Meet Dean
Dean has always dreamt of living in the trees. A few years ago he discovered tree nets — hand-woven structures suspended high in the canopy — and a true fascination was born. Unlike traditional treehouses, tree nets are lighter, cheaper, and completely non-invasive, causing no harm to the tree or its growth.
What started as a passion quickly became a way of life. During a period of homelessness, Dean made a tree net his home — 40ft up a huge tree in the city's botanical gardens. It was there, high above the world, that he taught himself the art of weaving these incredible bouncy structures by hand.
Today, Dean builds bespoke tree nets for homes, schools, and businesses — turning his secret safe place in nature into unforgettable experiences for others. He also runs a YouTube channel showcasing musicians, artists, and performers from his nets in secret locations around the country. When he's not up in the trees, Dean is also a talented illustrator and is currently writing and illustrating his own children's book.
